Who Are TSU's Administrative Professionals?
Helping students is just one commonality between administrative professionals working at Truman State University. From custodians, secretaries and administrative assistants, working with students makes them the happiest.
Administrative Assistant Dorothea Shipman, who has worked at Truman for the past 10 years, expressed her favorite part of working in the office.
“I know everyone who comes here has their own parents back at home, but sometimes whenever they get to missing home I feel like I can kind of be a mom away from home,” Shipman said.
Mario Jaquez is a janitor in the residence halls and has worked at Truman for over 10 years. He remarked that he enjoys his job and loves how students are always friendly and cordial.
At Truman State University, administrative professionals range from receptionists, custodians, and secretaries in various departments including public safety, counseling services, the library, athletics and several others.
Administrative assistant, Stachia Vorhees, proclaimed that administrative professionals are the hub of the University and contribute to its functionality and success.
It is somewhat easy for the efforts put forth by administrative professionals to be forgotten by students, but on this Administrative Professionals Day, we want students to express gratitude and say “thank you” to the administrative professionals who care so much about them.
